When you're selling your products and services, you're going to hear no a lot. And you're going to hear versions of no (I get a lot of "not right now, but maybe next quarter"). This is valuable information. THIS is market research. Your content is attracting a specific type of person. If your offer is not a match to how you attracted them and their needs, it's going to show up in your sales figures. Maybe your offer is too long. Maybe it's priced too high for the clientele you're reaching. Or maybe your offer is not a match to your content. For years I used the tagline "I get you on TV". But if you look back at the content I produced (and the topics I'm really excited about ), pitching TV barely makes the top 5. My offer focused on pitching media, yet I was attracting a lot of clients who had more immediate needs: showing up on social media, delivering content with confidence. This fall I used this data to shape three new streams: On-Camera Confidence - for the business owner who has to show up on screen somewhere, but hates it and avoids it. Produce Like a Producer - for the business owner who is struggling to share their specialized knowledge in a significant way. They're either struggling to create their own consistent content, or they're struggling to deliver quality creative direction to their social media team. Either way, the message is getting lost and watered down. Launch It Loud - for the business owner who wants to promote their services on a higher-level. This coaching program helps you establish your expertise on social media and teaches you to leverage it with broader media. At the end of the program you get a recorded, produced interview for your own marketing and to use when pitching media. Selling these programs and aligning them with my content is a breeze. After listening to prospects for the past year, the puzzle pieces of my marketing have finally fallen into place. Hearing "no" is not an ending. It's showing you your Next Offer. I’m huge on DIY when it comes to small business ownership. I’m also huge on outsourcing only when you understand what you are outsourcing. This column started from someone going to one of Corey Hinde ‘s excellent trainings on local seo, then announcing she was going to get to number one for her keyword - describing what she does in a way NO ONE would ever look for. SEO tip: If you want to increase searches for a specific keyword... Drain your phone battery and head to your nearest city. Then... Tell strangers you've ran out of battery and need to call someone. When they give you their phone, open Google, search for that keyword and click your website. Do this for a few hours every day and your rankings will improve 🙂 #seo

Local SEO is not just for local “store” pages. It can also be a very powerful content play. Growth Skills first Fractional Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) client is an incredible THC Seltzer and ecommerce brand. It’s Hemp based and federally legal under the 2018 U.S Farmbill. As their Fractional CMO I use SEO to drive the most revenue and we have grown revenue monthly by 49% if you compare when we started in March to now. We are working on cracking paid media as well, but for now SEO is the work horse. All metrics including website visitor, email signups, sales, revenue and keyword rankings have grown tremendously. One of the SEO strategies we are using is to use articles to dominate local searches with high intent. -THC Drinks in Nashville  -THC Drinks in LA To get people to visit and buy from the local store or to take a chill pill, stay home, and let us ship you a Wunderful experience. All the local articles that rank have generated revenue with over 3x return on the cost of each single article. Plus, additional lifetime value since customers repeat purchase. How we do it: 🥋 -GA4 Location: Pulled the top states that website visitors come from -Keyword Research: Analyzed the local terms with conversion intent -Distribution: Looked at the states that we are in stores or bars like Nashville, TN -Article Briefs: Used A.I tools to reverse engineer what it would take to rank and created a tight article brief. -Human Writer: Used a category expert writer to write the content. -Article Publishing: Generate 12+ articles a month. This process let's us out rank major sites like Weedmaps and claim the top three positions usually number one. It also works well because Google AI Overviews are not as prominent on these types of local searches so you can get a proper position one. You can use this strategy for many different industries. We are about to do it for a new Credit Union client. I’m going to do a video on how we are using content for competitive conquesting in SEO for this brand. Real talk. The struggle to create social media content is not really a struggle. It's a matter of priority. There are entire agencies like Ampfluence that can create content to help you promote your business consistently. But one of the big things I realize most brands or entrepreneurs don't recognize is that social media content is a lot like investing. It compounds: those 3 - 5 posts a week make a difference in sales 3 years later. Are you compounding content on social?

As an agency owner, making mistakes is inevitable.
